Paul James Nye-Pouthier started seriously listening to music and sound when he began playing the drums in 1986. He continued his rhythmic inquisitions in 1991, playing the bass guitar with Brian Quinn and Shawn Gauthier of Ould Pound and NYC's very own, Adam Lewis. It was with their band, Mossy Point, that he first tried his ear at recording. In 1993, he began learning the ropes of audio engineering from Los Angeles producer, Mark Scarboro at Fractal Soundworks in Bozeman, Montana. A year later he honed his live music mixing skills at Chapel Hill's, now defunct, Cresaent City Music Hall. 1996 brought him into the recording studio relm at New York's famed Juilliard School, where he honed his skills for four years. 1998 introduced location sound mixing to his array of talents and he eventually left Juilliard to pursue the freelance audio engineer curcuit. In 2000, Paul was fortunate to join the ranks of New York's finest film makers with his induction into I.A.T.S.E. Local 52, Motion Picture Studio Mechanics. He joined forces with Kurt in 2001 to add to Lucid Production's vast variety of audio and music related services.
